I saw glass potted succulents on a blog a couple weeks ago and just had to make it myself.
I love plants, but have yet to keep any alive. I would love to have a mini garden on our balcony and thought I should start with some succulents. They don’t need as much attention and they are so pretty! I bought two bowls from Michael’s and three succulent plants from Lowe’s. I already had some potting soil, so it only cost $11 to make. I think they turned out so cute! I’m wondering how long they will thrive in their shallow pots. If they start to look a little sad I figured I can easily repot them and put them on our balcony.
Lowe’s also had ranunculus for only $2. I stood in front of them for a few minuets trying to decide if I should buy one. Then I saw Primrose for only $1. I bought one of each with my fingers crossed. Hopefully I can keep these guys alive…we’ll see…
We began the process of turning the second bedroom into a nursery a few weeks ago. I had to fun job of organizing and finding new places for everything that was in that room. Man, we had a ton of junk! It was nice to get rid of things out we didn’t need. Unfortunately our desk was too big to fit anywhere else in the house. We stored it in the garage and bought a smaller desk that fits perfectly in the dinning room. I didn’t like the idea of a dinning/office space at first, but we use our desk top more now, win-win-win .
We also picked a color for the walls and Tim painted a couple weekends ago. It took many paint swatches and six paint samples to find the perfect shade of blue. We are both so picky about colors, but a sale made us make up our minds quick. It is a nice light pale blue. We are accenting with black/brown furniture and splashes of green, blue, and a bit of orange. We already purchased the dresser and chair from Ikea and we are keeping the office bookcase in the room. Just last weekend we bought the crib and mattress. Tim’s parents kindly helped us bring it home. I will have to take new pictures soon to show those too. Now that the paint fumes have settled it is time to decorate!
Tim took me to The Huntington Library, Museums, and Botanical Gardens a couple weeks ago. It has always been a special place for me, and it is even more special since he proposed there too.
The house is painted! Well, all except the 2nd bedroom, 2nd bedroom bathroom, and the laundry room. We painted the living room, dinning room, and hallway and hired a painter to do the high walls above the foyer stairs and stairs up to the 3rd floor. After 8 months of boring white walls we are very happy to have more color in the house! Now we need to get more decorations and photos/art for the walls
We have been living in our new townhouse for 9 months now! It is 1,300 square feet, 3 story, 2 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath townhouse in Anaheim, Ca. We moved in on November 6, 2008 – 2 days before our wedding! Not a smart idea. Buying a home and moving on top of wedding planning is a little overwhelming. It ended up working out perfectly!
Standing in our garage the day we decided to buy and put down a deposit!
We got to write something on our bedroom wall before the drywall went up during the frame walk through.
The day after our wedding, we had a nice brunch at Tim’s parents house to open our presents! We then went home to pack and drove to Santa Barbara for our honeymoon!
A great start to the day. My mom and sister took me out to get my nails done and then back to my sister’s house to get my hair and do my make-up. We ran a bit late and I was all nerves driving up to the Centennial. Once inside, putting on my dress and veil, I was ready to get married!
I was told by many friends to try to take mental pictures of the important moments. Right before my Dad walked me down the aisle I looked around at all of our family and friends. I felt so much love that they were all there to support our marriage. Something I will remember forever.
We had our engagement shoot in Down Town Fullerton a couple months before the wedding. A few of our favorite restaurants are there including where we went on our first date 5 years ago. Thanks to JimmyChengPhotography.com we got some really cool photos.
